Meet Your Guide
I built this because I needed it first.
_____________
IĀ spent years learning the hard way what it actually means to train, fuel, and live in a female body.
ZOE ANASTASIA
Founder of Terra Balance
Nutritionist Ā· S&C Specialist Ā· Yoga Instructor Ā· Women's Health Educator Ā· Holistic Practitioner
With a background in nutrition, strength and conditioning, yoga, and holistic health, I founded Terra Balance to support women in reclaiming their health through evidence-based, cycle-aware practices.
My work is grounded in both modern science and lived experience. At 16, a misdiagnosed injury ended my figure skating career and set me on a long road of rebuilding, physically and mentally. That journey through overtraining, underfuelling, and learning to finally trust my body is exactly why I do this work.
"I know what it feels like to be the woman who is doing everything right and still feeling like her body is working against her."
My focus is on hormonal health, nervous system regulation, and intuitive lifestyle design: tools that foster not only physical vitality, but also mental clarity, emotional resilience, and deep self-trust.
Whether you're here to restore balance, reduce burnout, or simply reconnect with your body in a more meaningful way, I'm here to guide you every step of the way.
THE SKATING YEARS
I grew up on the ice.
Competitive figure skating from a young age, driven, disciplined, completely devoted to the sport. I loved it. The training, the routines, the feeling of moving well. I still do.
But there's a reality to growing up in an aesthetic sport that doesn't get talked about enough. The culture around leanness, the mirrors, the comments from othersĀ about how your body looks, it seeps in gradually. You start to learn, without anyone ever saying it directly, that smaller is better. That tired means weak. That pushing through is the same thing as strength.
I absorbed all of it. Going through the motions, doing what was expected, disconnected from what was actually happening inside. That disconnect felt like discipline at the time. It took years to understand the difference.
THE INJURY
At 16/17, I was forced to stop.
During competition prep, something wasn't right. I trained through it for over a year, misdiagnosed repeatedly, living with pain I'd normalised. Eventually diagnosed with osteomyelitis, a bone infection, having been living with a stress fracture the entire time.
Two surgeries. Two months of IV antibiotics. A two-year healing process. A long time to sit still, and a long time to start noticing things I'd been too busy to see.
THE REBUILD
Coming back wasn't just physical.
While healing, I went to university and graduated with a first class honours degree in Sport and Event Management. Walking away from competitive skating gave me space to breathe, and to start understanding what I'd been through.
But the patterns didn't disappear. For years, behind what looked like a healthy, active life, I was still struggling with body image, still overtrained, still chasing a version of myself that wasn't sustainable. Chasing 'skinny' and calling it discipline.
I immersed myself in understanding what I hadn't been taught. S&C coaching. Nutrition. A postgrad in Performance Nutrition with Distinction. Yoga teacher training. Holistic practice. Nervous system regulation. Hormonal health. Not to build a brand, because I genuinely needed to understand my own body.
WHY THIS WORK
Back on the ice, and everything it taught me.
Eventually, I returned to the sport I'd loved since childhood. I did an Ironman 70.3. IĀ competed and placed first at Skate Emirates 2025, my husband in the stands. And I did all of it as a genuinely different athlete, stronger, more connected, actually present in my body.
That difference, and the gap I kept seeing in how female athletes are coached, is why I do this work. Most programmes were built for men. Most coaching ignores female physiology, cyclical energy, and the relationship between sport, body image, and identity.
